General Information
Unit Specifications Protected Enclosure Criteria
Protective Gas Supply: Air or Inert Gas The consumption of protective gas is directly related to the
Unit Supply Pressure: w/ Purge Vent: 80 - 125 psi max. integrity of the protected enclosure plus the type of purge
w/ Redundant Regulator: 5 psi max. requirements, i.e. dilution and ventilation. The following
Unit Supply Connection: 3/8” tube fitting enclosure recommendations are provided to help minimize
protective gas consumption and increase purge unit efficiency.
Enclosure Supply: 3/8” tube fitting 1. The enclosure should be fabricated to meet NEMA 4 or
Enclosure Reference: 1/4” tube fitting 12 / IP66 requirements.
Safe Enclosure Pressure: 0.5” w.c. / 55Kb
Safe Press. Flow Rate: * 0.1 - 3.5 scfh per cf 2. Non metallic enclosures should meet ANSI/UL 94 V-O
or 94 5V.
Class I Purge Time: See page 9, step 6 3. Enclosure windows should be impact resistant and sized
* Enclosure Integrity determines actual Flow Rate as small as possible.
4. Enclosure surface temperatures must not exceed 80%
Material Specifications of the area’s auto-ignition temperature.
Unit Mounting Plate: 316 Stainless Steel Brushed 5. Avoid obstructions and barriers which could impede
protective gas flow through the protected enclosure.
